Has your Spring Sprung?

Song of Solomon: chapter 2: Verses 11 and 12:

“ For behold, the winter is past, the rain is over and done. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of spring has come and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land”.

Well… spring has sprung in New England; and with it a sense of looking forward; to expecting something good. Warmer weather, lighter clothing, more sunlight, flowers blooming, the wild life in our yards, longer days, prepping the garden, planting, spending time outside again.

We happily leave winter behind us. We had record snowfall this winter. It altered our plans. It had us wondering how we would ever remove all that snow and get back to our normal routines. It made some of us wonder if it was time to move to a warmer, milder climate once and for all.

We wont even mind the rainy April weeks ahead because, well at least it’s not snow and also we joyfully envision the flowers the month of May will bring. And after that, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to summer. July and August… Vacation months… every since we were kids…nothing maybe except for Christmas morning beat the months of July and August. It meant the pool, the beach, family vacation, hanging out late with our friends, No School… WOO HOOO!!

But if we step back and take a look at spring and our mentality about it, our consciousness… What is it all about? What state do we find ourselves in? The first thing we notice is we have become positively expectant. We expect good. We daydream about all the good that is on its way. We are not so focused on our aches and pains, our letdowns. We don’t see trouble at work or on the home front in quite the same way. We are looking out, looking forward with great joy. It has altered out entire mind state.

I love Easter; it’s my favorite holiday. It is about resurrection and ascension and rebirth. The old self, the lower self, the limited self dies and we are reborn once again to our higher self, higher levels of consciousness. Just like the flowers coming through the dirt, our real self is blooming. We are aligning with all that is good. Seems like everything that happens in spring is just like the undercurrent of the ocean, driving us into the shore of all that is good, all that is of God.

But how do we maintain that spring-like positively expectant attitude at other times during the year? Like when it’s 95 degrees in the middle of August and it’s terribly humid or when there is 3 feet of snow on the ground in February? Or when there are more bills than money to pay them? Or when we have medical issues, or when people leave or people die? Are we only designed to be spring-like in the spring? Are we only to expect good, when the “bad stuff” is behind us and there are no earthy signs of it visible to the eye?

Everyday, every single day of our lives our good is on its way. It is all around us. The blessings are everywhere as we maintain levels of higher consciousness and live beyond the faulty, not to be trusted, appearances of this world. Trust that all you need to live a happy, purposeful, peace-filled, healthy life is here. Keep your mindset on that immutable truth and refuse to waiver from it. The more we focus on our good, the more of it we will see and the more of it we will attract in our lives.

So there is no need to wait for March, April, May and June to have a spring like attitude- you can have it every day of your life.
